Frequently asked questions
Here you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding tattoo appointments, consultations, project planning, pricing, and the process behind larger tattoo projects.
The information provided reflects my personal approach to tattooing in Graz and Klagenfurt, with a focus on traditional Japanese tattooing (Irezumi) and Western Traditional.
If you have any questions that are not covered here, please feel free to get in touch through the contact form.

My primary focus is on traditional Japanese-inspired tattooing and classic Western Traditional work.
However, I also consider myself a technically versatile tattooer and remain open to other styles, including Maori, New School, Chicano, and comic-inspired tattoos, provided the project is a good fit.
-
At the moment, I generally do not take appointments for small tattoos, as I only offer half-day and full-day sessions.
However, with multiple artists working in our studio, we can most likely recommend the right tattooer for your project.
If you are looking for small traditional tattoos, feel free to get in touch. Depending on the design and scope, we can certainly discuss the possibilities.
-
Yes, I actually do quite a lot of cover-up work. Traditional Japanese tattooing is particularly well suited for cover-ups, and in many cases, more is possible than people initially expect.
A personal consultation is very important beforehand, as it allows us to assess the existing tattoo and discuss the best possible options for your individual situation.
-
Any form of prohibited, extremist, or politically motivated symbols has no place in my work.
A first tattoo directly on the neck? I reserve the right to decline requests if I believe they are not well thought out or are likely to be regretted later on.
A highly detailed portrait on a small finger? Tattoos need to follow certain principles in order to age well and remain readable over time. If a design is not technically suitable for the chosen placement or cannot be executed in a way that will hold up long-term, I will recommend an alternative solution or decline the project.

In general, my calendar is always open for new projects. However, for larger pieces that require multiple sessions, you should expect a waiting time of approximately six months.
For smaller projects, appointments can often be arranged within two to three months, depending on the scope of the work and current availability.
-
No. A clear general idea regarding the subject matter, placement, and style is more than enough to get started.
During a free, no-obligation consultation, we can discuss your ideas in more detail and develop a clearer vision for the project together.
-
As a general rule, I do not send out designs in advance, as all important details are discussed and agreed upon during the consultation before the first appointment.
Exceptions can be made depending on the project and its specific requirements.
-
No. In addition to working in Graz, I am also regularly available at our studio in Klagenfurt.
-
That depends largely on your body size, the style of the tattoo, and the level of detail involved.
As a general guideline, a traditional Japanese back piece usually requires between six and ten sessions, while a Western Traditional back piece can often be completed in three to five sessions.
-
I work on the basis of full-day and half-day sessions.
A full-day session is typically priced between €800 and €1,000.
A half-day session is typically priced between €400 and €500.
The final cost depends on the actual progress made during each session and the overall scope of the project.
-
A half-day session typically lasts between 3 and 4 hours.
A full-day session usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours.
Please note that these time frames refer to the entire appointment, including preparation, stencil placement, breaks, and consultation—not just the actual tattooing time.
-
Yes. A deposit is required to secure an appointment.
For a single appointment, the deposit is €100. For larger projects involving multiple sessions, the deposit is €200.
The deposit remains on your account throughout the project and is deducted from the final appointment.
If you fail to attend your appointment without giving sufficient notice, the deposit will be forfeited.

In general, everyone is welcome, and I genuinely appreciate anyone who chooses to be tattooed by me.
Professionalism and reliability are very important to me, and I expect the same level of respect and commitment from my clients.
If you value thoughtful decision-making, clear communication, and a professional working relationship, and if you are willing to place your trust in my experience and process, you will likely feel very comfortable working with me.

To a certain extent, all tattoos fade and soften over time. This is a completely natural part of the aging process.
One of the reasons I chose to specialize in traditional styles is their proven longevity. Strong compositions, clear lines, and the appropriate use of black ensure that a tattoo remains readable and visually impactful for many years to come.
Whether it is a color tattoo or a black and grey tattoo, the same principles apply. A well-designed tattoo should continue to work with the body and maintain its character long after it has healed.

-
Absolutely. Getting tattooed during the summer is generally not a problem.
My tattoos typically heal quickly and without complications. However, during the first two weeks of the healing process, I recommend avoiding direct sun exposure, sunbathing, swimming pools, lakes, and similar activities.
Giving your tattoo the proper time to heal will help ensure the best possible long-term result.
-
That depends on the size and placement of the tattoo, as well as the type of sport or exercise you plan to do.
For example, if you have a freshly tattooed upper arm, I would recommend avoiding exercises such as bicep curls for around ten days. However, there is usually no reason why you could not continue training other areas of the body, such as your legs.
In general, it is best to avoid excessive friction, stretching, and heavy stress on the tattooed area until it has had enough time to heal properly.
